“My paintings are the result of a passionate fascination with color and form. I love the way colors change depending on the color they’re next to and how the light affects them. Forms are often sensuous and reminiscent of the human body and landscapes.
I use suggestive images allowing the viewer to relate in their own way and hopefully, they become involved in their own interpretation of the artwork. Adding upcycled elements, I feel gives a ‘time capsule’ effect – 100 years from now, everything we use in our everyday lives will be different – will there be bar codes, or plastic net bags on fruit?
My goal when I’m painting is to create something that someone will find so compelling when they view at it that they want to keep looking at it – that it evokes a pleasant or calm response.. (needed in our crazy, often terrifying current state of surreal reality)
and/or..
have fun when they recognize a partially (and subtly!) obscured label from something like Snoop Dogg’s chocolates
and/or..
they see a bit of a type style or logo that I feel should be immortalized :)” *

My recurring theme is:
Life is a nonstop, a flowing journey, always moving forward, upward; beauty surrounds us; we are responsible for each other and for our beautiful planet and we endeavor to organize our lives accordingly.
