Michelle Kee is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina, now based in Atlanta, Georgia. As a child, she was originally inspired to teach herself drawing and sketching from fashion magazines. Her current work has evolved to include several styles and mediums. From painting on clothing to canvas, she uses bright colors and realism to provoke emotion. Mixing pop art and abstract styles, she brings a unique cross-cultural perspective to the themes explored in her works such as the diversity of beauty, architecture, violence, and popular culture.
She has been featured in Jack Daniel’s very popular “Arts, Beats, and Lyrics” Traveling art and music show and currently has work displayed in the offices of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her work can also be seen in local businesses in Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA.
